It can be easy to misinterpret the Bible.  Sometimes it is because of confusion or a lack of knowledge.  Sometimes verses can be misinterpreted in order to come to a conclusion that the reader desires.  There are some keys to properly interpreting the Bible.  Three keys that are foundational are 1) looking at the context of the passage, 2) interpreting in line with other Bible passages, and 3) looking at the text with the goal of seeing how the verses are to be used.  These three keys will help in understanding what the passage is teaching.

Beginning this week we begin a new series called Twisted.  We will look at some commonly misinterpreted verses and dig down to see what they really mean.  This series will be beneficial  to everyone.

Remember our summer schedule.  I encourage you to check out the Thursday night service if you are not able to come on Sunday.  It begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include refreshments.  There are children’s activities for all preschool children and also activity sheets available for elementary children.

If you are attending Sunday, I encourage you to come early.  There will be some donuts or muffins along with coffee before the service which begins at 9:45 a.m.  Come early to enjoy some food and conversation.
