WHAT TO EXPECT FROM AWANA KICK-OFF

Sunday, September 22 | 5-6pm

We kick-off the 2024-25 AWANA year on September 22 with a special night planned to introduce kids (first-timers and returners) and their parents to the AWANA program! We’ll start the evening off by making sure every kid has what he/she need for the year--the books and uniforms that were ordered during registration will be packed up into easy-to-grab bags, along with a copy of the year’s calendar and a parent letter. Kids AND parents will gather in the auditorium for pledges, announcements, and songs. You’ll get a glimpse of what your kiddos will do to begin AWANA every week!

After the opening, kids will be off to complete an abbreviated version of a regular night at AWANA. They’ll travel with their teams to game time and handbook time, where their leaders will give them the rundown of what to expect each Sunday. While they do that, parents are strongly encouraged to remain in the auditorium for a parent orientation. There, the AWANA Commander and other leaders will discuss the year, details of the calendar, and what being a parent of an AWANA clubber entails. This will be a very important, informative meeting that you do not want to miss, and there will be a time for questions at the end!

We’ll wrap it up with treats for everyone--I even heard rumors of a cotton candy machine! We hope you’ll join us! For more information, visit our website or contact Shelby Dziekonski at 406-449-2273! It’s going to be a GREAT year!

Awana Clubs Offered at Hannaford

For preschool children (3 to 5 years old)

Cubbies® celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers (3- to 5-year olds) by helping them develop respect for God, His Son and His Word.

Preschoolers can hardly wait for their next Cubbies club meeting. Whether it’s the fun puppets, the exciting games or all their Cubbies friends, they simply love it. At Story Time each week, preschoolers learn about God – the greatness of His love and His Word – and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. Non-competitive games build excitement and reinforce Story Time lesson themes.

Cubbies will come alongside you as you lead your child to a relationship with God.

For Kindergarten through 2nd Grade

Sparks® is the highlight of the week to many children in kindergarten to second grade! They love their red vests, the exciting games and spending time with leaders and friends.

Sparks is divided into three years, each with a unique rank: HangGlider®, WingRunner® and SkyStormer®.

Each year, Sparks clubbers explore stories from the Bible, memorize Bible verses, and complete handbook activities. Prizes are awarded for completion of sections and books.

For 3rd through 6th Grade

Truth & Training® engages third- through sixth-graders and answers their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is achieved through a Biblically-based curriculum that focuses on living out one’s faith through a life of grace.

A middle school ministry

Trek® at Hannaford is for grades 7 & 8. Trek challenges students to wrestle with the three most important questions they’re asking in middle school:

Who am I?

Why am I here?

Who’s with me?

By allowing students to dive deep into the Scriptures and answer these questions for themselves we allow them to own their faith and discover what they actually believe.

A high school ministry

Journey helps to establish high school students as lifelong disciples through a deep study of God's Word, mobilizing them to live with godly perspective and evident faith.

Journey students are encouraged to consider their worldviews and receive guidance as they work to align them with scripture.

I like knowing my son is learning quality content in a way that he can understand and that he is excited to come EVERY time. The process they use for protecting the children and vetting the adults provides great comfort to me, I don’t have to worry about him when I’m not there!”
